August 2007

In late July-early August 2007, we had a smaller group, Steve and Andrew Pelton, Chris Meyer, Mark and Nancy Cunningham, Dan and Rilyn Colucy and Craig Hansen. It was pretty strange to be at camp without Mark Wanous and George Wagner who have been regulars for over 20 years.

It was Hot! Fortunately we had a nice breeze every day. Recent heavy rains and hot weather made for very warm water temperatures for evening swims to clean up.
Fishing was OK, plenty of action, but nothing big.

Andrew put his Dad on the fish – and looked Good! Craig proved that he can catch fish with his banana. Andrew did not match his 43″ Northern from last August, but had fun. Chris took his new 2003 Suburban with leather seats, XM Satellite Radio to listen to the Twins – a nice ride!

Steve and Andrew hiked up to Lost Lake to fish and explore. Andrew caught this Northern on his 2nd cast! We had a great time catching 25-32″ Northerns.
After a few hours paddling the canoe, it was good to stretch and appreciate that Lost Lake, with it’s crystal clear water is one of the prettiest places in the region. The Loons ventured close to our canoe and flowers were blooming on the Lilly pads.
